Nice and cosy place, close to nature Our Dalton Highway experience during the first week of October 2015 isn't complete without stopping by Boreal Lodge. Heidi, one half of the husband-and-wife proprietors, was friendly and welcoming. The cabin we were in was cozy, warm, and much better than I had anticipated—considering that we were in the middle of nowhere in Alaska. There was free Wi-Fi via their limited satellite Internet, and because they share 350MB between everyone, we were asked to only engage in bandwidth-heavy photo uploading at specific hours of the day (11pm - 4am?). The Polar Cabin we were in has a queen-sized bed in the loft and two single beds in the room beneath it. There was even a skylight—had the aurora borealis appeared then, it would've been a magical sight. Food is not included, so make sure you buy your groceries beforehand from Fairbanks! When searching lodging along the Dalton Hwy there are few choices but Boreal is a nice simple very clean lodge tucked away in the words. The bathrooms are shared and slightly apart from the main sleeping buildings. It offers a kitchen area and a small store. Perfect
